Vendetta Bullet

When a man escapes murder or suffers the death of those he cares for, he can etch the name of the ones responsible onto ammunition, giving physical form to his vengeful desires.

Level 5+ Rare.
Ammunition: Firearm bullets ONLY. (Not shotgun shells, grenades, etc)

Ammunition: As per the rules found in AV2, when an enchanted piece of ammunition is fired from an enchanted ranged weapon, you use…

  • the enhancement bonus of the ammo,
  • the critical effect of the weapon (if the attack crits),
  • and the properties and/or item powers of both.

Property Only one vendetta bullet can be used against a given creature each encounter, even if they’re fired by different creatures.

Property When targeting the creature whose name is etched on this bullet, roll your attack and do the following:

  • Miss. Treat the attack as a hit and roll damage.
  • Hit. Treat as a critical hit.
  • Natural 20. Also a critical hit (no additional benefit).

Crafting Vendetta bullets can only be created by someone who owes fierce vengeance to an enemy, and even then that aggrieved person can only create one vendetta bullet per enemy, and only if he knows the enemy’s name. He can never create a second vendetta bullet against the same person, and if he passes the bullet to someone else, a given shooter can only ever benefit from one such bullet per target.

DM Ruling: You only need your target’s first name to make a vendetta bullet. And no, writing a name like “John” and waiting for a so-named individual to piss you off doesn’t work.

Julian LeBrix knew the secret to making these vengeful piece of ammunition, and taught the technique to Alain Templeton, as a kind of thank-you for being warned about the plan to burn down his home.
